How to search for yourself without making things worse

A private, logged-out way to see what a stranger might find.

Marked for professional / legal review before institutional publication. Educational sample only.

This app does not search the internet for you. A self-search is something you do, on a device and network you consider safe enough.

Use a browser that is not signed into your main Google, Apple, or social accounts. A library computer or a trusted friend’s device can be better than a shared home computer.

What to search

Your name in quotes. Then your name plus city. Then a phone number and email, each in quotes.

Check the Images tab and map results. Look at people-search sites, but you do not have to opt out of every one in one sitting.

Do not enter a partner’s full name into tools you do not trust. Do not store addresses you find inside this app.
